The students in Mr. Terupt's first sixth go through a lot of changes in the three books in the series, so does Mr. Terupt. They all grow up and change. The one thing that doesn't change is the fact that the group remains the closest of friends, including Mr. T. Do you think you would go as far as the students did to try and save a special teacher? Do you think your parents would become involved as much as well? It's hard to imagine what the "gang" is going to go through next as they grow up and change, no one knows, including Mr. Terupt. |
Activity One A haiku is a three-line poem with seventeen syllables, written in a 5/7/5 syllable count.
Think of the different characters in the book Saving Mr. Terupt. Choose one of these characters and write a haiku about them. You CAN NOT use the haiku that is in the picture!! |
Activity TwoHow does the potential loss of Mr. Terupt’s teaching position profoundly impact and change the lives of each of his former students? Do you think they are ultimately better people because of what happens to him? Why or why not? Write down the name of all seven students and tell how you think Mr. Terupt changed each one of their lives. Make sure you use examples from the book.

–What is diabetes? –What are the types of diabetes? –What are the most common causes? –What are common symptoms of diabetes? –What are common side effects of diabetes? After gathering facts, create an original slideshow that highlights your newly acquired knowledge. You can choose to use PowerPoint, Prezi, or any other application that you find friendly. |
