Tuck Everlasting
                    Grades 3-5

Doomed to―or blessed with―eternal life after drinking from a magic spring, the Tuck family wanders about trying to live as inconspicuously and comfortably as they can. When ten-year-old Winnie Foster stumbles on their secret, the Tucks take her home and explain why living forever at one age is less a blessing that it might seem. Complications arise when Winnie is followed by a stranger who wants to market the spring water for a fortune.

Book Level 5; 4 points
Picture
Do you think you would like to live forever? It would be both good and bad, depending on how you looked at it.

I'm sure you know of people who are "old," but they age as they go, just like you. I'm not for sure that I could be 30 forever. Would that mean I would never have grandchildren? Would I never know what it would be like to not have to work, or to retire? It brings up many questions.

There is a movie for Tuck Everlasting. After you read the book, feel free to watch it and decide which is better. (The book ALWAYS is!!)
